Carter County authorities have discovered the body of a missing Johnson City woman. Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes says a sonar trace was followed up near the Butler Bridge and Vonda Donaldson's body was found. An autopsy will be preformed by the Quillen College of medicine. The 28-year-old woman's boyfriend who is a recent parolee from the Tennessee Department of Corrections is considered by police as the only suspect in the case. 31-year-old Steven Odell Bennett is being held for parole violation and has not been formally charged with Donaldson's murder. Bennett is alleged to have told family member Sunday that he killed the woman and dumped her body off the Butler Bridge. (jb)
