Today is Columbus Day and several city and county government offices will be closed. Hawkins County offices will be closed as well as the Surgoinsville Town Offices. Scott County, Virginia courthouse and county offices are closed along with Gate City, Wise County, Big Stone Gap, Wise Town Hall and Lee County offices. Most area banks are closed today. (jb)
