Bennett Murder Arraignment
A Johnson City man has been appointed a public defender and is being held on a one-hundred-thousand dollar bond after his arraignment in Washington county Tennessee. Steven Odell Bennett is charged with second degree murder and abuse of a corpse. Police say during an interview Bennett admitted to choking Vonda Donaldson, he then wrapped her body in a tarp, weighed it down and threw it off the Butler Bridge in Carter County. Johnson City police also report that Bennett led them to Donaldson’s body. Bennett was already jailed on unrelated charges. He appears for a preliminary hearing on October 11th.
