The Johnson City Police Department is getting praise from Rosie Jenkins the mother of Vonda Donaldson. She claims they worked around the clock searching for her daughter. Jenkins saw a large support system from Johnson City while officers worked to make an arrest. 28 year old Vonda Donaldson was strangled and beaten to death and her body was wrapped in a motorcycle cover and thrown off a bridge. The man accused of her death is now in jail and was arraigned in court on monday. Steven Odell Bennett knew Donaldson for over ten years even though he had been in prison the two remained friends since she was in her teens. Rosie Jenkins described Bennett as trouble but said he had never hurt her daughter before. She went on to say that Bennett killed the only person that cared about him. (bg)
