Accused Killer's Heraing Delayed With No Detailed Explanation
Thursday’s preliminary hearing for the accused killer of Vonda Berry Marshall Donaldson was delayed with no detailed explanation. Police investigators were in court with the Assistant District Attorney General and prepared to face 31 year old Steven Odell Bennett. His attorney requested more time saying an October 30th date would allow them to better prepare for his defense Sighting the seriousness of the charge. Friends of the victim insist that Donaldson was not dating Bennett even though he claims he accidentally choked her during sex. Johnson City Police found Donaldson’s in the Watauga Lake three days after her family reported her missing. Bennett confessed to throwing her off the Butler Bridge out of panic. When Police found Bennett, he was using Donaldson’s car and blood was found. Bennett was jailed with a 100-thousand dollar bond. (bg)
