The Navy Spends 100-Million On Fuel From Erwin Company
The U.S. Navy is spending 100-million dollars on more fuel from Nuclear Fuel Services in Erwin. They are a supplier of fuel for the Navy's nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines since 1964. This news comes after the company had received two contracts from the U.S. Department of Energy's Naval Reactors Laboratory Field Office. Details about the contracts were limited but the company is known for developing fuel for Naval Reactor programs and they continue to convert highly enriched uranium from weapons into fuel for nuclear power plants.
