Sullivan Working On Memorandum Of Understanding
Sullivan County schools may have the first memorandum of understanding approved by the state. Teachers and school leaders hashed out the details of the memorandum in a marathon session. The memorandum of understanding will replace collective bargaining. Two other counties, Union and Rutherford are in the process of developing a memorandum of understanding. Hawkins County schools still have employees bound by contract, and will approach a collaborative type of program when those expire. (jb)
