Sentencing is expected Friday for 41-year old Leslie Dean Ritchie. A Carter County jury found him guilty on two counts of soliciting sexual exploitation of a minor. In Criminal Court last month the jury assessed the maximum 25-thousand dollar fine on each of the two counts. He’s accused of hiring, a 12-year-old girl to model for him in her underwear. He was staying with her mother at the time and was arrested on the charges. He was indicted by a Carter County grand jury on those charges plus he was charged with violating the sex offender registry. Ritchie was considered a nonviolent sex offender and was placed on the sex offender registry after pleading guilty in Carter County back in 1996 on a statutory rape charge and it was made clear to him at that time what he could and could not do both verbally and in writing.
