Woman Faces Child Neglect, Auto Theft & Drug Charges
Police in Johnson City say a woman left her two young children ages 1 and 2 at home to go help a man steal a Jeep. The report states that 21-year-old Ashley May was charged with attempted child neglect, auto theft and drug possession. Police said a man heard his Jeep being started outside his apartment and then saw it being driven away. The man's brother gave chase and followed the vehicle to a WALMART parking lot where two people jumped out and ran into the store. The brother chased them and tackled 24-year-old Robert Cody Haney. When police arrived Haney was charged with auto theft. (bg)
