Bristol Motor Speedway Looking Over Tax Assessment
Just how much is that 419 acre Bristol Motor Speedway complex worth? Speedway Motor Sports and Sullivan County Assessor's Office have been meeting trying to figure that out. Last year the world's fastest half-mile paid over $1.2 million in county Property taxes. Commissioners this year bumped the tax rate up $.20 per hundred dollars of assessed evaluation and that could tack another $98,000 on the racetrack bill. Track officials emphasized is standard policy to double check all tax rates and assessments at Bruton Smith facilities.(CS)
