Elderly Neglect
A grand jury in Sullivan County has indicted a man on charges of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of an adult. Adult protective services were contacted saying Jimmy Brown was not taking proper care of his mother. An investigation showed that his 86-year-old mother is bedridden and can't care for herself. She was severely dehydrated and suffering from malnutrition. The woman was not being given her medication. Brown also reportedly used the woman's income money for purposes other than her care. Brown was arrested and released on a 20-thousand dollar bond. (cc)
