Earlier in the week, Johnson City police arrested Willie Jo Whitson for trying to return stolen merchandise to Mahoney’s. Late Last night, they arrested Gary Whitson (of the same address) also for trying to return stolen merchandise to the business. Police say Whitson gave them false information about where he received the property. Gary Whitson is charged with False Report and Possession of Stolen Property under $500.00. He is being held in Washington County Detention Center on a $10,000.00 dollar bond and is scheduled to appear in Washington County General Sessions Court this morning.
