New Law On Prescription Drugs
A new Tennessee law takes effect this week, designed to combat prescription drug abuse and overdoses. Governor Bill Haslam signed the bill that requires all doctors to have their offices registered this week. The bill reduces the reporting time doctors have from 30 days to seven. There will be a database of all people that are prescribed pain killers. Doctors consulting new patients will have to consult that database beginning in April. (jb)
