Botched Getaway Lands Abingdon Men in Jail
Washington County Virginia officials have made arrests after two Abingdon break-ins. Sheriff Fred Newman said 20-year old James Dylan Holmes and 22-year old Charles David Black broke in to Wildflower Bakery and Pizza Plus on Lee Highway and took cash, jewelry and electronics. Deputies arrived to find the pair trying to move their vehicle after they backed into a large drainage ditch in front of the business they had just broken into. The men have been charged with grand larceny and breaking and entering. They are being held at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon. Most of the cash and property from the robbery has been recovered.
