Tate Dead
The former owner of a Dickenson County Newspaper has died at a Johnson City hospital. 47-year-old Michael Tate was taken to Johnson City after a firearms accident. The police report says that Tate and a youngster whose name was not released were shooting a gun near Norton Resevoir when somehow Tate was shot in the head. The police are still investigating the incident and will not release any further details at this time. Tate was also very active as a civic volunteer for Dickenson County where he ran the county's weekly newspaper. (CC)
