Drugs near kids
Rogersville police arrested a woman after she was found keeping a variety of illegal drugs just a few feet from her sleeping kids. Maragret Buttry was arrested at her home on North Depot Street after an officer found her impaired while doing a welfare check at the residence. According to the police report officers found a white powder substance, marijuana, and legal precription drugs that had several pills missing at the home. This is not the first time Buttry has been arrested for this kind of behavior. She faced a similar situation in Church Hill where she was found unresponsive lying in a bed next to an infant who was heavily soiled and unkempt. Two other children were present in that home. On that day officers found amphetamine pills within arms reach of the infant. The department of Children's services has returned the two children to their father. (CC)
