MLK/Inaugural event
Area democrats will be celebrating Democrats Moving Forward on Monday evening as the group celebrates the Inaguration of President Barak Obama on his second term as President of the United States and the legacy of Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the federal holiday to honor him. The event will include a dinner, silent auction, and music and dancing. Chairman Walter Buford will preside over the ceremonies which also includes a speech by local historian Dr. Daryl Carter on the historical connections between Dr. King and President Obama. Last inaugural celebration had over seven hundred people in attendance. (CC)
