Charges have been upgraded against a Johnson City man accused of murder. 30 year old Steven O'Dell Bennett was charged with second-degree murder in the October death of 28 year old Vonda Donaldson. Her body was discovered in Watauga Lake near the Butler Bridge. Bennett told police that she died during rough sex. The court has upgraded his charge to first-degree murder. Bennett remains jailed under a 100 thousand dollar bond. He will be back in court on April 16th. (jb)
