Former Chief Justice Dies At 96
State flags are flying at half-staff in honor of former Virginia Supreme Court Chief Justice Harry L. Carrico. He died yesterday morning at age 96. Carrico retired in 2003 after 42 years on the Supreme Court. For the last 22 he served as chief justice. His tenure as a justice was the longest in the court's history.
