A Johnson City man is headed to prison in the accidental shooting death of his son. Christopher Mitchell was sentenced to 24 years in prison. The 30-year old Mitchell was convicted in November of criminally negligent homicide and felony reckless endangerment. His 2-year old son Jacob was able to get to his father's handgun in the hotel room where they were staying. Once Mitchell completes his 24 year sentence he will be turned over to serve a 15 year sentence in federal prison. (jb)
