A judge has appointed a special prosecutor in the embezzlement case of Vickie Lynn Parker. She is the wife of Washington County, Virginia treasurer Fred Parker. She was an employee at the Abingdon Branch of Grundy National Bank until last May. Parker has been charged with embezzlement over 200 dollars. Because her husband is a public official, the judge appointed Joel Branscom as special prosecutor in the case. (jb)
