Several roadways in the region have been closed due to flooding. Washington County, Virginia, Sullivan County, Tennessee, Washington County, Tennessee and Greene County 9-1-1 operators are all reporting several road closures. This has prompted the closing of several schools. A portion of the Nork Fork River Road in Washington County, Virginia has been washed away. Officials recommended the evacuation of residents near Tumbling Creek, Saltville and in the area of North Fork River Road. An emergency shelter has been opened in Abingdon at Pleasant View United Methodist Church. (jb)
