The murder trial of a Fall Branch man began Tuesday in Jonesborough. 51 year old James Henry Allen is accused of firing three shots from a .22 rifle that killed 45 year old Rick Carter. Carter had reportedly moved in and was living with Allen's estranged wife. Allen's wife, Deborah Franklin testified that she heard three popping sounds as Allen was standing in the door of the mobile home. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. (jb)
