NEW Bristol Hotel May Be Coming
A new $9 million hotel project is apparently going to be the focus of a Bristol Virginia meeting next Tuesday. An Abingdon developer is asking for $380,000 in economic incentives to build a Hilton Garden Hotel and Restaurant just off interstate Exit 7 in the area of the present Cracker Barrel Restaurant. The proposed hotel would have 5 to 6 floors with about 100 guest rooms along with the restaurant and lounge. Banquet areas and business meeting facilities will also be in the complex. Bristol Mayor Jim Steele says the hotel could generate millions of dollars into the local economy if approved.(CS)
