Man Cashes Forged Checks
A man has been arrested after cashing forged checks at several Johnson City banks. Wesley Lawson of Hamilton Street has been charged with 8 counts of Forgery, two counts of identity theft and two counts of theft of property over one thousand dollars. Investigator Frank Peters says that Lawson cashed stolen checks at Eastman Credit Union and BB&T. Surveillance video caught Lawson in the middle of the transactions. He is being held under a 120 thousand dollar bond at the county jail. (jb)
