Kingsport False Police Report Arrest
Kingsport’s city walking trail, the Greenbelt, is not as unsafe as some critics would like you to think. A 20-year-old Kingsport man has been charged with making a false police report about being robbed on the linear park trail that winds through the Model City. Shawn Fletcher was charged with simple assault and domestic violence after punching his girlfriend in the eye. She was treated at a local hospital. Fletcher had coerced his girlfriend into going along with the robbery story to cover the fact that he had hit her. Police investigation led to the lie un-raveling and Fletcher being arrested.(CS)
