Coeburn, Virginia's interim town manager has been placed on paid administrative leave pending results of a Virginia State Police investigation. Town Mayor Jess Powers says that the town council voted to place Loretta Mays on leave after they learned of the investigation. The Virginia State Police tell us that the investigation centers around a financial discrepancy with Lay's Hardware Center for the Arts. Mayor Powers will serve as interim town manager. (jb)
