Police Searching For Roan Mountain Man
Carter County police are searching for a Roan Mountain man who tried to take a group of hikers hostage last year. It happened on Unaka Mountain. A capias has been issued for Marcus Birchfield. He was supposed to have been in court for a plea deadline hearing and never showed up. Judge Lynn Brown issued the warrant for his arrest. The sheriff's department requests that if you have information on where Birchfield is to contact them. (jb)
