Starting July 1 Carter County's Interim School Superintendent will be signed to a two-year contract as the full-time head of the school system. Dr. Kevin Ward was nominated in the Thursday school board meeting by board member Jerry McMahan. Warded served as the assistant superintendent under former Supt. Shirley Ellis. Ward told the board he of appreciated their confidence in the was looking forward to the tremendous challenge of operating and improving the school system. (CS)
