Former Carter County Sheriff John Henson has been indicted on a sexual battery charge. The charge stems from an incident with a woman at a convenience store in Carter County. Henson lost his bid for re-election to current Sheriff Chris Mathes after serving 10 years as the county's top cop. Since then he has been fired from the Town of Watauga police force. He is currently a County Constable. Henson posted a 3 thousand dollar bond and was released from jail. (jb)
