800 Coal Jobs
Good news for the southwest Virginia economy. A company based in Norton, Virginia has announced that they are opening five coalmines. Those mines will employ 800-workers. Dickenson and Wise counties in Virginia and Harlan, Kentucky will see mines opened…both underground and surface mines and prep plants. They hope to hire those workers that have been laid off from the coal mines. They say they have received over three thousand applications for the 800 slots. (CC)
