Mayor Getting Heat Over Rehiring Cop
Mount Carmel Mayor Larry Frost is taking heat from the Board of Mayor and Aldermen for ordering the police chief to rehire a former officer. David Dean was suspended and later fired from the department in 2007. Former Chief Jeff Jackson fired Dean for failing to complete his in-service training. He was suspended for padding his time card and had to pay the city back 600 dollars. We've also learned that he was rehired in Mount Carmel just days after being fired in Bean Station. (jb)
