Affirmative Action Bill Dies In Committee
Lawmakers have turned down a proposal to eliminate affirmative action initiatives from higher education institutions in Tennessee. The measure was defeated yesterday in the Senate Education Committee. It would have prohibited colleges and universities from granting preference based on race, gender or ethnicity.
