Jail System Searches for Expansion Financing
Jail officials in Abingdon need help financing a project set to move forward this month. The Southwest Virginia Regional Jail project seeks to add over 500 beds to facilities in Abingdon, Haysi and Duffield. The Virginia General Assembly voted to pay for half of the $34 million expansion.
