Louisiana Murder Suspect Arrested in Johnson City
A 27-year-old Johnson City man has waived extradition to Louisiana for his alleged role in a 2008 gang shooting there. Richard Shelby, Junior was arrested Friday at a Johnson City Police Department traffic stop. Shelby appeared before Judge James Nidifer who attempted to explain the proceeding the Shelby who appeared confused at times. Judge Nidifer explained extradition and the bench warrant on murder charges, telling Shelby that no matter what he did he would likely be returned to Louisiana eventually. Louisiana police now have 10 days to pick up the suspect in the alleged drive-by shooting homicide.(CS)
