Elizabethton City Manager List Narrows
There's only one remaining candidate be interviewed for the position of City Manager by Elizabethton city officials. The Development Coordinator for Johnson City, Steve Nielson will be interviewed Thursday afternoon for the top job in city government. Mayor Curt Alexander has announced that Jeffrey Morris, the city manager of Valdese, North Carolina had pulled out of the competition. Morris has been city manager in that Western North Carolina community for the last 33 years. Elizabethton Interim City Manager Jerome Kitchens and Morristown Senior Planner, Melissa Peagler have already been interviewed by Alexander and City Council members.(CS)
