Murder Trial Underway
Opening statements were heard in Gate City Wednesday morning in the trial of a Bristol man accused in 2011 Christmas murder. If convicted, 61-year-old Charlie Joe Ramey is facing life in prison for his alleged role in the murder and robbery of Gregory Jerome Hale at his home in Nickelsville. The jury of nine men and four women began hearing testimony before Judge John Kilgore. That jury could be taken to the murder scene for what is called a “JURY VIEW” of the scene of the crime. Another Bristol man 31 wear old Daniel Eugene Norris has a capital murder trial set for august as the alleged trigger man in the killing.
