Final Hospital Take Over Agreement Meeting
The next step in the acquisition of Unicoi County Memorial Hospital by Mountain States Health Alliance is expected Thursday afternoon. A 1 o'clock meeting is planned at the Erwin Town Hall for the UCMH Board of Control to consider adoption the final acquisition agreement. The meeting is open to the public. The Unicoi County publicly owned community hospital has been struggling financially. Many close to the issue are calling the acquisition a welcomed solution. There is a vocal minority opposed to the Mountain States offer compared to an offer from Wellmont Health System.(CS)
