Budget Concerns For Trustee's Office
Budget cuts by the Sullivan County Commission have left the county trustee’s office low on supplies. The trustee’s office is responsible for collecting county property taxes and other revenue that supports county government. Budget Committee Vice Chairman Robert White is co-sponsoring a resolution, which seeks to appropriate 40-thousand dollars to cover needed supplies for rest of this budget cycle, which ends June 30. The county had cut over 70- thousand dollars of the trustee’s operating budget over the last two years, while the price of supplies has continued to increase. More discussion on the resolution is expected from commissioners. (bg)
