Fire Damages JC home
Fire caused damage to a Johnson City home on Friday evening. Fire officials say they responded to a fire at 2909 Vernon Street where heavy flames and smoke were visible. A person living at the home told fire fighters everyone made it out of the home. One room of the home was heavily damaged, the rest of the home received heat and smoke damage. A male occupant of the home had to be taken to Franklin Woods Hospital for treatment of burns to his hands. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The fire department says the house was not equipped with smoke detectors. (CC)
