Sword attack
Kingsport police say a man is in critical condition after he was stabbed in the stomach with a samurai sword. Police responded to the office of Pinecrest Apartments. That is where they found 34-year-old Joseph Wexler lying on the floor with a stab wound to the abdomen. Wexler was conscious and named his attacker. That led police to 39-year-old Mark Anthony Vermillion who lives in unit seventeen of the memorial boulevard address. Vermillion has been charged with aggravated assault. Police say the attack was a result of an argument between the two men…they do not know the reason for the confrontation. Authorities say more charges could be pending. (CC)
