Election Officials Upset Over Low Early Voter Turnout
Election Officials in Johnson City say voters are not coming out to cast their early votes for the April 23rd election.. Administrator of Elections, Maybell Stewart, says only 4 to 5% of all registered voters have actually cast their ballots. The low turnout is a continuation of years past, but has gone even further by reaching historically low numbers. Early voting continues through next Thursday, at the courthouse in Jonesborough, Gray Commons, and the Washington County Health Department in Johnson City.
