Attorney Requests IQ Test for Client
Although she’s been cleared in psychiatric evaluations, the attorney for Dorene Tipton requested the court order an IQ test. The Unicoi County resident is accused of attempting to hire a hit man to kill her ex-husband almost two years ago. Attorney David Crockett says his client does not have a full grasp of her case. Her current husband, James Tipton, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to solicit first-degree murder, but has not been sentenced because Judge Robert Cupp wants to keep the cases together. Cupp set a hearing for the couple on July 19.
