Shoplifter Gets Arrested, Then Busted for Meth
Breaking the law once, led a Bluff City man to get caught breaking the law again. Washington County Sheriff Fred Newman says Donald Wayne Russell was arrested while trying to steal over $2,000 worth of merchandise from the Bristol, VA Wal-Mart. A search of his vehicle yielded a one-pot methamphetamine lab and methamphetamine precursors. Russell is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine precursors, and shoplifting. He is being held in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon on a $12,000 secured bond. (JH)
