Inmate Makes Escape Attempt from Hospital
37-Year Old Shawn Harris saw an opening he thought he could take. Harris is a Hawkins County Jail inmate and had to go to the emergency room for some medical treatment. He escaped from an adjoining room after he was allowed to go to the bathroom. He was caught by Correctional Officer Bill Henard just a short distance from Hawkins County Memorial Hospital. He now faces felony escape charges on top of his original crime of felony violation of community corrections. (JH)
