Potential Police Chief Candidates Considered In Kingsport
Kingsport has advertised both internally and publicly and accepted applications for the police chief position. Itís hoped that a new police chief can take over in June but city officials feel secure with what they refer to as two capable deputy chiefs watching over police operations. The assessment center begins the process as a committee of current and retired local police chiefs, ranking officers and other members of the community interview potential candidates. Assessment center members will be chosen within the next two weeks. After the interview the potential candidates will be ranked on key skills and the committee could recommend one to three candidates. (bg)
