Mom and Son charged
Jonesborough and Washington County Tennessee authorities had their hands full on Tuesday as the SWAT team had to be called out to handle a call on Patton Ridge Road. It all began when 74-year-old Evelyn Chesser called 9-1-1 saying there was a man in her home with a gun. Police responded only to hear two people making threats to harm one another. The SWAT team was called in after Jessee Nelson threatened the officers when they tried to enter the home. Chesser was later allowed to leave but lied to officers saying no one in the home was armed. She was shocked by police after refusing to respond to directions. Swat used a flash device to cause confusion and enter the residence where they apprehended Nelson. He fought police and had to be shocked as well to get him under control. He was treated by EMS and moved to the detention center under several charges. The mom, Evelyn Chesser was charged with lying to police. (CC)
