Dickenson County Officer Shooting
Virginia State Police are investigating a shooting incident involving a member of Dickenson County Sheriff’s office after a man died from a gunshot wound. It all started with a call to emergency services says VHP SGt. Michael Conroy. “Dickenson County Sheriff’s office received a 9-1-1 or an assault at a residence in the 100 block of Paul Stanley Road, which is in the Caney Ridge section of Dickenson County. When the deputy arrived and confronted the suspect involved in the reported assault pulled out a knife and charged at the deputy. The deputy subsequently fired at the suspect.” Dickenson County Sheriff’s office was contacted but declined to name the officer involved in the shooting. Conroy says the state police will investigate and turn over all information to the commonwealth attorney. (CC)
