Charged With Identity Theft, Tampering with Evidence & Escape
At first he was wanted by another state which is why Johnson City Police Officers responded to the Volunteer Lodge looking for him. Now hes charged with Identity Theft, Tampering with Evidence, and Escape. 19- year old Cody Mattox gave officers a false identity, tried to destroy a glass pipe and then while officers attempted to put him in the patrol car tried to escape. He was caught by a short foot pursuit. He is currently being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a 70- thousand dollar bond and scheduled to appear in Washington County General Sessions Court today. (bg)
