Scott Co. Murder Trial Re-Set
The first-degree murder trial of 40-year-old Melissa Justice Napier from Yuma in Scott County Virginia was scheduled to start Monday morning in Gate City but did not.. She is facing charges in the shooting death and concealment of a dead body along with attempting to defile a dead body for her alleged role in the death of her husband 74-year-old Billy Ray Napier. The woman's 14-year-old daughter is also to be tried as an adult in connection with the murder case. The alleged murder occurred March 20th of 2012 but his body remained hidden in the bedroom of the home for over three weeks. A new trial date has been set for September 30th through October 8th in Scott County Criminal Court.(CS)
